Elektra microcasa boiler cap & safety valve
The Elektra microcasa boiler knob although looks like a simple boiler cap it’s actually a steam safety valve. It’s job is not only to seal the boiler pressure but to release any excess pressure build up within the boiler.
Elektra microcasa boiler cap troubleshooting.
NOTE: If your boiler cap has been securely screwed in position and once the unit has heated and steam starts hissing from the boiler cap, there could be one of two remedies:-
- Try tightening it a little more. If the hiss persists check to see if the black plastic cap is pressing onto the boiler. If it is, then there’s a good chance that you need to replace the seal. We recommend to purchase two seals as we found in the newer models the black plastic knob sits very close to the boiler and sometimes (although the valve is new) if you tighten it a touch more the plastic cap presses onto the boiler preventing a good seal. If this is happening with your boiler cap, then install both seals.
- There’s a good chance that your pressure switch is failing allowing the unit to overheat. Replacing the boiler cap will not fix the problem. If the pressure gauge is in the red zone, it’s recommended to bring it into us for a service. Book your service here (02) 95655227.
