The Elektra micro casa bottomless portafilter allows you to see how the actual coffee oils and crema combine during the coffee extraction. This lets you evaluate your your grind texture and tamping technique.
I’m sure you’ve experienced an uneven coffee flow between the two spouts and wondered if you should adjust the grind texture. The grind texture could actually be perfect. The reality is that as you’ll notice with the Elektra micro casa bottomless portafilter is that the coffee tends to drip at various areas of the filter basket until the flow start to increase. It then, all connects together and looks so delicious like fresh mahogany honey flowing into your cup. This initial uneven drip is why you’ve experienced more coffee coming out of one of the spouts. Unfortunately the bottom of the standard portafilter has two quite large concave areas that lead to the two spouts. So, if the coffee drips a little at one of the spouts sides, it will travels down that particular spout until a more prominent flow develops. Thus an even distribution between the spouts.
